"'Berliner Ballade' is one of the most important German films from the time after the Second World War." (Berlin newspaper) Presented as a review from 2048, the satirical parable describes post-war life in the ruins of the capital. In it, the clattering Gert Fröbe in the figure of the homecomer Otto Normalverbraucher (who thus became a familiar figure) meets black marketeers and reactionaries, has to cope with blockade and currency reform, but also - due to the lack of men caused by the war - with the advances made by numerous ladies.
